Online Therapy

Life is already chaotic and stressful. Running from one meeting to the next, making sure to drop the kids off at their play date, and in the midst of all of this making sure to grab the groceries on the way home.

Another hour appointment easily turns into two and half hours, between warming up the car traffic and waiting in the waiting room.

Add on top of all of this . . . Covid-19.

Of course there is going to be some hesitation about trying something new. Online therapy is convenient, confidential and engaging. Many people have found it to be just as effective as in-person sessions.

Many of my clients love the fact they don’t have to leave their home, can catch me in-between meetings, or just don’t have to worry about being seen by someone they know in the waiting room.

Yes at times there will be interruptions. I’ve had kids run through the door, dogs show up unannounced, and the occasional emergency phone call. We will get back on track. In fact, bring your dog. They seem to have this innate sense of knowing when you need some love as we work through life stuff.

All of my sessions are online. I am happy to figure out with clients where I can see them, whether they are out in the backcountry of Alaska, visiting family in the lower 48, or vacationing out of the country. I enjoy doing the research of finding where I am able to meet with you.

If you are still not sure if online therapy is a good fit, let’s give it a try. Setup a 20 minute consultation with me and see how it feels. If it still does not feel right, I’ll work with you to find a colleague who is able to meet with you in person.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
