If you are you going to run into me outside of therapy, you’ll find me on the way to bag another peak, in a river fishing with a homemade fly rod, or out looking for an unexplored part of Alaska. If it’s outside and involves good friends I’m in!

My heart is also in volunteer work and empowering other therapists and social services staff. Throughout the year I volunteer with an anti-human trafficking organization based in Cambodia with sites around the world. I come alive in cultures outside of my own and have a general curiosity about others. If there is something about you that makes you unique I want to know!

The enjoyment I find in the therapy process comes through seeing clients believe in themselves, know themselves and develop confidence to take on life on their own terms. I know what it's like to be indecisive, lacking vision, and dragged on another ride by the expectations of others.

If you told me 10 years ago that I would be a therapist with a private practice living the life I wanted I would have thought you were crazy! I struggled with seeing what I wanted in life and going for it. If it means anything to you, I am an Enneagram 9, so overcoming indecisiveness and finding confidence in my voice is a continual development.

Fly fishing on a lake, Men's Counseling, Justin Dobrenz, LMFT, LLC,

In therapy it's my job to keep you focused on the important things, move you through difficult emotions, ask good questions, and guide you into self and relational improvement.

Beyond the required training to become licensed as a therapist, I have continued training in Emotion Focused Therapy for couples and individuals. I bring a calming and grounded presence into therapy that allows for insightful discussion, validation, and non-threatening confrontation.

I’ve worked with a variety of clients and find the best therapeutic work is with stuck men not getting what they want out of life, and with couples who find themselves caught in the seemingly never-ending negative emotional cycles.

I have helped countless individuals navigate through their emotional blocks holding them back from enjoying life. Couples have come to me in duress and left therapy confident they know how to talk with one another without me, no matter what difficult subject is being discussed.

Now that you know me,
lets get to know you
